For best results pan fry from defrost. The following instructions are guidelines only. Ensure that the product is thoroughly cooked before serving.
Do NOT refreeze after defrosting.
PAN FRY
- Defrost in a refrigerator for 12 hours
- Remove from all packaging before cooking.
- Allow steak to rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking.
- Rub the steak with a little oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a heavy based frying pan over a high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the steak in the dry pan and cook over a high heat for 1 minute each side.
- Add additional timing for preferred steak:
- 2 minutes each side for rare.
- 3 minutes each side for medium.
- 4 minutes each side for well done.
- Once cooked, rest for at least 5 mins.
BBQ
- Defrost in a refrigerator for 12 hours
- Remove from all packaging before cooking.
- Allow steak to rest at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking.
- Rub the steak with a little oil, and season with salt and pepper.
- Ensure the BBQ is hot, place gently on the griddle & cook for 2-3 minutes each side.
- Add additional timing for preferred steak:
- 2 minutes each side for rare.
- 3 minutes each side for medium.
- 4 minutes each side for well done.
- Once cooked, rest for at least 5 mins.
Keep frozen at -18°C. Use by date indicated on the pack. Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and consume within 2 days.

- Wild Boar Steak with Apple and Sage: Pan-fry the wild boar steaks until browned and cooked through, then rest. Sauté sliced apple and fresh sage in the same pan with a little butter. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal greens.
- Wild Boar Steak with Mustard Mash: Cook the steaks in a hot pan and rest before serving. Stir wholegrain mustard through creamy mashed potatoes and serve with roasted carrots and a simple pan gravy.
- Wild Boar Steak with Crispy Potatoes and Red Onion: Pan-sear the steaks and set aside to rest. Serve with crispy roasted potatoes, caramelised red onions and a fresh rocket salad, finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
- Wild Boar Steak with Creamy Cider Sauce: Sear the steaks and rest while making a sauce with cider, cream, wholegrain mustard and a little stock. Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed greens.
- Wild Boar Steak Flatbreads: Cook the steaks and slice thinly once rested. Fill warm flatbreads with the sliced wild boar, rocket, caramelised onion and crumbled feta, then finish with a mustard yoghurt dressing.
- Wild Boar Steak with Roasted Squash: Season and pan-fry the steaks, then rest before slicing. Serve with roasted butternut squash, red onion and spinach, finished with toasted pumpkin seeds and a honey mustard dressing.
- Wild Boar Steak with Creamy Polenta: Sear the steaks and slice once rested. Serve over creamy Parmesan polenta with roasted cherry tomatoes and wilted spinach for a comforting but slightly different meal.
- Wild Boar Steak with Potato Rösti: Pan-fry the steaks until browned and cooked through. Serve with crispy potato rösti, wilted greens and a spoonful of apple and mustard relish.
