Why not try:
- Crocodile Fillets with Citrus Butter Sauce: Sear the fillets in a hot skillet with butter or oil until browned on both sides and cooked to your liking. Remove the fillets from the skillet and let them rest. In the same pan, melt butter and whisk in a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice. Stir in minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt. Pour the citrus butter sauce over the crocodile fillets and serve with roasted potatoes and steamed asparagus.
- Crocodile Tacos: Slice the cooked fillets into thin strips. Warm corn tortillas and fill them with sliced crocodile meat, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and your choice of toppings like salsa, sour cream, and avocado slices. Squeeze some lime juice over the tacos for added freshness. Serve with a side of Mexican rice or black beans.
- Crocodile Stir-Fry: Cut the fillets into thin strips. Stir-fry them in a hot wok with an array of colourful vegetables such as peppers, mangetout, carrots, and mushrooms. Add a sauce made with soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and a touch of honey or chilli sauce. Toss in cooked noodles or serve over steamed jasmine rice for a flavorful and quick meal.
- Crocodile Coconut Curry: Cut the fillets into bite-sized pieces. In a large pan or pot, sauté onions, garlic, and curry paste until fragrant. Add the crocodile meat and cook until browned. Stir in coconut milk, diced tomatoes, and vegetables of your choice (like peppers, bamboo shoots, and peas). Simmer until the crocodile is tender and the flavours meld together. Serve with steamed rice and garnish with fresh cilantro.

My husband wanted to try this as he’d eaten it many years ago when out in South Africa. I marinated in lemon, chilli & garlic over night and he cooked it on the BBQ. It was amazing, flaky like fish with the marinade bursting through. A tip don’t over cook it!

OMG - This must be cooked on the Braai (BBQ) keep it simple, salt & pepper. The taste is amazing with the burnt edges and that smokiness.
